Becoming a member
To become a dues-paying member of AFSCME Local #1004:
- Contact the union or speak with a steward.
- A steward will walk you through the AFSCME membership application.
- Once you submit a signed payroll-deduction authorization, dues begin the pay period after the form reaches HR.
Dues fund the union's organizing, training, contract enforcement, and member services. They are not used for political purposes (consistent with Utah law).
